Cut the log into 3 parts, use socks from the dollar store for the hats, cut the nose chips out of wood and material of choice for scarves. Buttons hot glue down the front and paint for eyes and cheeks.... I can make these cause I already have the wood!

Have some plastic caps hanging around? Be creative and make some ornaments. These snow people were made from some caps found littered on the beach. It's easy... and a good a way to get the kids to upcycle the plastic and since plastic never decomposes you will have the ornaments for generations.
